I am a connoisseur of great stories. Since childhood, I read as many books as I could get my hands on. I looked forward to going to the library as much as going to the beach. I especially loved visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts and seeing paintings from all over the world.
I believe that great stories are found in books, paintings, plays, music, film, and apps! I decided to combine my fine arts background, digital animation and computer programming backgrounds to create Sea Shell Kids. I am inspired to create content that celebrates the diversity of all children.
I took on the ambitious project of creating an animated short using the 3D software Blender. It took a combination of math, creativity and self-determination to complete my first 3D animation. Even though it’s only three minutes long, it took over a month to finish it.
I decided to turn the animation into a children’s book titled “No Glasses For Me.” I am actively developing new ideas for future books and animations. When I got my hands on an iPad, I got the urge to develop apps.
Teaching myself how to code and assemble apps has been a fascinating journey. My first app, “Pretty Like Me 1” was inspired by my beautiful niece and her gorgeous braids. I recently decided to create more apps to highlight beautiful children of other ethnic backgrounds. Please check back to the website for frequent updates.
